Claude Haiku 5.5 is a proprietary language model from Anthropic, released on Oct 7, 2026.
At $0.1 input and $0.5 output per million tokens, it ranks #3 of 38 for input price, placing it among the most affordable options.
Its context window of 1.0M tokens ranks #12 of 39 for context depth in this dataset.
It targets budget, agents workloads.
Released Oct 7 2026. Built for high-volume, latency-sensitive work such as classification, routing, extraction and subagent tasks; fastest comparative latency in the current Claude lineup. Unlike Haiku 4.5 (200K context, extended thinking), it has a 1M context window, 128K max output and adaptive thinking with the effort parameter (default effort medium). It uses the newer tokenizer from Claude Opus 4.7 onward, so the same text counts as about 30% more tokens than on Haiku 4.5. Thinking blocks work only in the account that produced them or a linked account. Text and image input, up to 300K output on the Batch API with the output-300k-2026-03-24 beta header. API identifier claude-haiku-5-5 (anthropic.claude-haiku-5-5 on Bedrock), reliable knowledge cutoff June 2026, retirement not sooner than Oct 7 2027.
