Lovable is the default AI app builder for a reason. You describe an app, it builds the frontend, backend and database, and you have a hosted URL the same day. The reasons people look for Lovable alternatives are narrower than "it's bad." Credits run out faster than planned, the generated code needs a developer before real traffic, or the app needs something a chat-first builder does not do well, like a native mobile app or a visual backend.
This guide compares 6 Lovable alternatives on what each one builds, what it costs on its own pricing page, and when switching is worth the trouble. Pricing and feature claims were checked against each vendor's own site on 6 November 2026. Where a vendor page did not state something, we say so instead of guessing.
If you want a wider market view first, our roundup of the best AI app builders covers 12 tools. This post is narrower. It is about leaving Lovable, or deciding not to.
Lovable alternatives: a brief overview
- Bolt.new: Best for a fast browser-based build with hosting, databases and auth bundled in Bolt Cloud.
- v0: Best for teams that want React and Next.js UI with one-click deploys on Vercel infrastructure.
- Replit: Best for builders who want an app, database, hosting and auth in one workspace, with a database rollback on the Pro plan.
- Base44: Best for the lowest entry price, with a built-in backend, auth and hosting from a free plan.
- Bubble: Best for people who want a visual editor and native iOS and Android apps, not only a web app.
- Claude Code: Best for developers who want a coding agent working in their own codebase instead of a hosted builder.

How to choose a Lovable alternative
Start with the problem, not the tool list. Most people who leave Lovable fall into one of four groups.
1) Is the problem cost or capability?
If credits are the problem, compare how each tool meters usage before you compare features. Lovable bills one credit balance across building, Cloud hosting and AI features in deployed apps, plus separate daily and monthly grants. Build mode credits vary by task complexity. Lovable's pricing page lists example prompts that cost from 0.50 credits (a button color change) to 1.70 (a landing page with images). Bolt meters tokens (Pro starts at 10M a month, with rollover). Base44 meters message credits (Starter has 100 a month). Run the same real task in two tools and compare what it consumed.
If capability is the problem, a cheaper builder will not fix it. Move to a tool with a different shape: a visual editor (Bubble), a full workspace (Replit), or a code-first agent (Claude Code).
2) Do you want to keep prompting, or start editing code?
Chat builders are fast until the app has real business rules. At that point many founders want a developer in the loop. Lovable syncs two ways with GitHub, so you can leave the chat interface without leaving the code. Claude Code and v0 are closer to the code from the start.
3) Web only, or native mobile too?
Bubble's own site says you can build iOS and Android apps and submit them to the App Store and Google Play, and it currently marks that feature beta. Mobile deploys need a paid plan. If you need native mobile, Bubble is the clearest switch on this list. Check the other vendors' current mobile support before you rule them out.
4) Prototype or product?
A prototype needs speed. A product needs auth, data security, billing and someone who owns it when it breaks. If you are past the prototype and the app stalls at auth, payments or the data model, a switch of builder rarely fixes it. A team does. See our Lovable agencies ranking or our SaaS MVP development service.
1. Bolt.new, best for a fast browser build with the backend bundled
Bolt is the closest direct rival to Lovable. You prompt in the browser, and Bolt Cloud, per Bolt's site, provides hosting, databases, user management and authentication, and custom domains. Bolt says it selects a model per task automatically.
Key features
- Bolt Cloud with unlimited databases, auth and hosting
- Automatic model selection per task
- Start from a GitHub import
- Private site sharing and custom domains on Pro
Best for
- Founders who want a Lovable-style loop with a token-based plan instead of credits
- Teams that want hosting and a database without wiring a separate service
Pricing
- Free: 1M tokens a month, 300K daily limit, Bolt branding on websites, no rollover
- Pro: $25 a month, from 10M tokens a month, unused tokens roll over
- Teams: $30 per member a month; Enterprise is custom
Pros
- Free plan includes private projects and unlimited databases
- Pro removes the daily token limit
Cons
- The Free plan has a 300K daily token limit
- Free tokens do not roll over

2. v0, best for React and Next.js UI on Vercel
v0 comes from Vercel. Its site says it works with Next.js, Tailwind and shadcn/ui, can use your existing components, and deploys in one click to infrastructure powered by Vercel, or opens a pull request for review. It also says you can connect a backend and databases.
Key features
- React components, plus CSS and HTML for prototypes, per v0's docs
- One-click deploy to Vercel infrastructure
- Design Mode for visual editing and GitHub sync on the Free plan
- Pull request flow for code review
Best for
- Teams already on Vercel and Next.js
- Developers who want generated UI they can review in a pull request
Pricing
- Free: $0, 7 messages a day
- Plus: $30 per user a month (the pricing page shows $90 struck through next to it), with $30 of included monthly credits and $2 of free daily credits
- Business: $100 per user a month; Enterprise is custom
Pros
- Output follows a mainstream stack your engineers already know
- GitHub sync is on the free plan
Cons
- The Free plan caps you at 7 messages a day
- Usage is metered in tokens by model, so cost depends on which model you pick
For agencies that build on it, see our v0 agencies ranking.
3. Replit, best for an app, database and hosting in one workspace
Replit's site says Agent writes code, evolves it, and runs on built-in infrastructure that includes hosting, a database, authentication and monitoring, plus 100+ integrations such as OpenAI, Stripe and Google Workspace. The Pro plan lists database rollback up to 28 days.
Key features
- Built-in hosting, database, auth and monitoring
- 100+ integrations
- Up to 15 collaborators on Pro
- Database rollback up to 28 days on Pro
Best for
- Builders who want one place for code, data and deployment
- Small teams that need collaborators on the same project
Pricing
- Core: listed at $18 a month billed annually ($20 before the annual discount), up to 30 hours of chat on Free Mode
- Pro: listed at $90 a month billed annually ($100 before), with premium support
- Enterprise is custom; the pricing page did not list a free plan
Pros
- Infrastructure is included instead of bolted on
- Pro adds a 28-day database rollback, a safety net chat-first builders often lack
Cons
- The pricing page showed several usage tiers near Pro without explaining them
- Credit and usage rules take time to learn

4. Base44, best for the lowest entry price
Base44 builds apps, websites and AI agents from plain-language descriptions. Its site says backend and storage are built in, with authentication, a database and hosting that makes an app live and shareable, plus custom domains.
Key features
- Built-in backend, auth, database and analytics
- Custom domain connection on paid plans
- GitHub integration from the Builder plan
- In-app code edits on paid plans
Best for
- Solo founders testing an idea on a small budget
- Internal tools where the built-in backend is enough
Pricing
- Free: 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month, up to 5 apps
- Starter: $16 a month billed annually, 100 message credits
- Builder $40, Pro $80, Elite $160 a month billed annually
Pros
- A real free plan that includes auth and a database
- Four paid tiers make it easy to scale up one step at a time
Cons
- Starter has no GitHub integration or model selection
- GitHub sync, which Base44 describes as the way to export source code, starts on the Builder plan, not Starter
5. Bubble, best for a visual editor and native mobile apps
Bubble pairs an AI Agent with a visual editor. Its site says every component is visual, including the backend, and that hosting, security and infrastructure are included. You can build iOS and Android apps that share data and workflows with the web app and submit them to the App Store and Google Play. The homepage marks this as beta. Bubble lists SOC 2 Type II compliance.
Key features
- AI Agent plus visual editor for workflows, database and design
- Native iOS and Android apps sharing the web app's data (currently marked beta)
- Privacy rules and a vulnerability check before deploy
- Bubble MCP to connect your own agent (marked beta)
Best for
- Non-developers who want to see and edit the logic
- Products that need a native mobile app
Pricing
- Free: 500 AI credits and 50K workload units a month, no live website
- Starter: $32 a month billed annually, live site and custom domain
- Growth $119, Team $349 a month billed annually; Enterprise is custom
Pros
- Bubble's own site describes submitting native apps to the App Store and Google Play
- Plans meter workload units, which ties cost to app usage
Cons
- Deploying a live mobile app needs a paid plan; the Free plan covers building it
- Workload units are a new unit to budget for
6. Claude Code, best for developers who want an agent in their own codebase
Claude Code is a different kind of alternative. It is not a hosted app builder. It is a coding agent that works in a codebase you control. Per Anthropic's pricing page, it is included with the Pro, Max and Team plans and not with Free.
Best for
- Teams that already have engineers and a repository
- Founders who exported a Lovable project to GitHub and want to keep building
Pricing
- Pro: $20 a month, or $17 a month billed annually ($200 up front)
- Max: $100 a month
- Team: standard seat $25 a month, or $20 billed annually; premium seat $125 a month, or $100 billed annually
Pros
- You keep the code and the deployment choices
- Works on an existing repository, including one synced from Lovable
Cons
- No hosted builder, database or one-click deploy; you set those up
- Needs someone comfortable reading and reviewing code

When to stay on Lovable
Switching has a cost. Rebuilding an app in another builder means re-prompting, re-testing and re-learning credit rules. If your app works and your only complaint is a higher-than-expected bill, change how you prompt first. Lovable's docs say Plan mode costs 1 credit per message plus the cost of any subagent research, and that long Build runs pause for a check-in at 20 credits by default. Check lovable.dev/pricing for the current monthly price, because the pricing page did not show plan prices when we fetched it.
When no builder is enough
Every tool above gets you to a working prototype faster than hiring. None of them owns your auth model, your data security or your billing logic after launch. If a builder stalls on those, the fix is engineering, not a different chat box.
At AY Automate, our Lovable development service rescues and extends stalled Lovable MVPs, or rebuilds them from scratch if that is faster. For a new product, see SaaS MVP development. If that is where you are, book a consultation and bring the project.

FAQ
What is the best alternative to Lovable?
It depends on why you are leaving. Bolt.new is the closest direct rival, Bubble fits native mobile apps, and Claude Code fits teams with engineers. For a price-first test, Base44 has a free plan and a $16 a month Starter plan billed annually.
Is there a free alternative to Lovable?
Yes. Bolt.new, v0, Base44 and Bubble each list a free plan, with limits. Bolt gives 1M tokens a month, v0 gives 7 messages a day, Base44 gives 25 message credits and Bubble gives 500 AI credits but no live website.
Can I move my Lovable project to another tool?
Lovable's docs say GitHub sync works in both directions and that you can download your code on paid plans. Once the code is in a repository, you can open it in a developer tool such as Claude Code. Rebuilding inside another hosted builder usually means starting over.
Which Lovable alternative is best for a mobile app?
Bubble is the one to look at first. Its site describes building iOS and Android apps and submitting them to the App Store and Google Play, though it marks the feature beta and a live mobile app needs a paid plan. Check other vendors' current mobile support too.
Is Lovable better than Bolt.new?
Neither wins on every project. Both bundle a backend with the builder. The practical difference is how they meter usage, credits for Lovable and tokens for Bolt, so run the same task in both and compare consumption.
Are Lovable alternatives cheaper?
Some entry prices are lower, such as Base44 Starter at $16 a month billed annually. But plans meter usage in different units, so the monthly sticker price tells you little. Compare cost per finished feature.
Can an AI app builder replace a developer?
For a prototype, often yes. For production auth, payments and data security, you still need engineering. A SaaS MVP development team can take over where the builder stops.
Should I hire an agency or switch tools?
Switch tools if the limit is cost or format. Hire a team if the limit is auth, data or billing. Our ranking of Lovable agencies lays out the options.
